Thethingis,thefilmdoesn'tseemtoknowifitwantstobeathriller,oragoofymovie.Dr.Cyclops(nevercalledthatbutreferencedtoaCyclopsafteronelensinhisglassesbreaks)lookscoolinhis"30'sstylesci-fihelmet"asheperformsexperimentsandcanbechillingattimes.Butthereissomuch"Disney-stylegoofymusic"goingonthatitishardtotakeanythingseriously.Themusicbelongsinafamilycomedyforthemostpart,andisplayedwhentheshrunkenpeopledothingsliketrytosurvive,andcreeparoundthefloor.Addthatafewofthemhaveprettygruesomedeathsandthatjustaddstotheconfusingatmosphere. TheFXaren'tsobadbutnothingspecial.Thegiantsetsbuiltareprettyimpressivethough.Thereisascenewherelittlefiresaretossedatarealcrocodile'sheadwhichprobablymadeanimalactivistsangry.
